Why do you need raw diet supplements?
Feeding your dog, a raw diet is healthy and beneficial for so many reasons. ( see earlier blog post “Why we chose a raw diet”.) Did you know though that feeding your dog a raw diet may mean they are not getting the right vitamins? Or not enough of the right vitamins?
It can feel very overwhelming to know if your dog is getting the correct vitamins and amounts needed in their daily diet. you could spend hours researching and still not know or understand what’s best. believe us we’ve been there. research has helped us understand a ton the vitamins that are needed. It has helped us choose the best diet for our dogs. making sure they get those daily vitamins is crucial to their health. So, we knew we needed to get this one right.
After spending a month driving ourselves crazy trying to make sure our dogs were getting what they needed for vitamins. we knew there must be a way to make sure our dogs were getting their vitamins and keep our raw diet without the stress. So, we dug deep into finding a good quality raw diet vitamin supplement that was going to be helpful for all of us. This would also provide less stress and worry.
Let us start by saying there’s A LOT out there. so it’s very important to do your research and find a good quality supplement and not one filled with a ton of junk. For us choosing the right one was key. This is where you get excited, we did the research for you.
We have found two great supplements that we use. Why two you ask? We love the ingredients in both, both get our 5-star review. We use Earth Animal Daily Raw with our young puppies because it contains taurine, taurine is great for heart health. Because puppies are growing rapidly, their little hearts are working overtime we want to make sure they get Taurine to help their growing hearts. Of course heart health is important for dogs of ALL ages, but critical for puppies and senior dogs. Wholistic Pet Organics Canine Complete is the supplement we started with our older dogs. After we had another litter of puppies and then we started using Earth Animal Daily Raw. We truly love them both, they both offer great quality vitamins and give clear directions on amounts to give your dog.
